Making the OWASP Live CD using SLAXSubmitted by mtesauro on Fri, 04/24/2009 - 17:23 |
After being accepted for the 2008 OWASP Summer of Code (SoC), I decided to go with SLAX for several reassons I'll detail in this tutorial. Since OWASP was paying me to create the 2008 version of the OWASP Live CD, I felt obligate to document the steps I went through to create it. That way, should I get hit by a bus or something, someone else could take up the reigns of the OWASP Live CD and hopefully not have to dig around the Internet to find all the stuff I'll be putting down here. I should also credit Kent Poots (one of my SoC reviewers) for initially suggesting the importance of documenting how I created the Live CD. (major props heading your way, Kent)
So far, I've managed to stay away from buses...
First, before I get started let me say that the below didn't spring out of my heard without lots of help. Much of this was advice gleaned from the SLAX website and of course Google was rather helpful too.
